Johnny Fears is a drummer, educator, and technology professional with a lifelong passion for music and innovation. After more than two decades as the founder of Active DataComm®, Johnny stepped away from day-to-day operations and enjoyed over a year of retirement focused on performing and teaching music across Northeast Mississippi.
In 2025, Johnny returned to the company he founded in 2001, now serving as IT Director. Excited to be back where it all began, he brings decades of leadership, technical expertise, and relationship-driven service to Active DataComm while continuing to perform as a freelance drummer with ensembles including the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Tupelo Community Theatre, and other regional events.
